Africa's Growth is Inevitable - Ambassador Victor Emmanuel Smith

In a room full of policy makers, leaders in agribusiness, venture capital and renewable energy developers as well as members of the Ghanaian diaspora, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, Victor Emmanuel Smith, called for a careful look at Africa's emerging economies and rapidly growing markets for sustainable mutual development and expansion. He pointed out that the world's economy is reorganizing itself and Ghana offers a place where growth is not saturated but just beginning. He said Ghana is strategically positioned as the point of entry to a1.3 billion-person Africa market under the AfCFTA whose headquarters is in Accra. He pointed out that as California is a world leader in innovation, climate technology, entertainment, digital services and advanced agriculture, Ghana offers the scale, demographic advantage, access to markets and a government committed to partnership and not protectionism. He stressed that the time for meaningful two-way relationships is now and it is important for all to build on it early. The Ambassador was speaking at the just ended California Investment Roundtable in Sacramento held at the California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA) with the endorsement of the Secretary for Transportation, Toks Omishakin.
