In a  tribute paid on behalf of the Government and people of Ghana, President Mahama said the United States has lost a remarkable leader who played a pivotal role in key moments of modern history that continue to shape global affairs.

He extended Ghana’s deepest condolences to the Cheney family and the American people and reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding partnership between the two nations.

The President added that Vice President Cheney’s legacy of service would be remembered with great respect and admiration.

The tribute was signed on behalf of the Government and people of Ghana by Ambassador Emmanuel Victor Smith.
